Personal Counseling Services, Inc. (PCS) is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Norman Melhiser
Samaritan Awards.
Deadline: All nominations must be received no later than 5:00 PM (EST) on Friday, March 27, 2026.

The honorees will be recognized at the Annual Samaritan Awards Gala on:

Since its inception in 2008, the Samaritan Awards Gala has honored individuals and organizations that have made significant, measurable, and positive contributions to our community—both civically and philanthropically. An independent panel of respected community leaders reviews all nominations and
selects the award recipients.

- Les and Virginia Albro For-Profit Business Award
- Alice and Richard Schleicher Individual Award
- Personal Counseling Services Award of Excellence (First Responder/Healthcare – individual or organization)
Nomination Eligibility & Requirements
Before submitting a nomination, please ensure the following:
- Mission Alignment: The nominee aligns with PCS’s mission of promoting wellness of body, mind, spirit, and community.
- Eligible Nominees Must Be One of the Following:
- A Not-for-Profit Organization
- A For-Profit Business
- An Individual
- A First Responder or Healthcare Professional/Organization
- Permission Required: You must obtain consent from the nominee prior to submitting this form.
- Typed Submissions or Web Form Submissions Only: All nominations must be typed using the official form or submitted via the official form on our website. Handwritten submissions will not be accepted.
- Ineligible Individuals: Current PCS employees, board members, volunteers, and past Samaritan Award recipients are not eligible.
- Attendance Requirement: Award recipients must be available to attend the Gala on August 20, 2026.
Selection Criteria
Nominees will be evaluated based on:
- Significant, demonstrable, positive contributions to the community
- Leadership or actions that promote positive change, civility, and measurable community impact
- Alignment with the mission and values of Personal Counseling Services
