Personal Counseling Services, Inc. (PCS) is proud to announce its selection to participate in “Winsday 2026,” a special fundraising event presented by Resolute Racing and hosted by Churchill Downs in partnership with the Community Foundation of Louisville during Kentucky Derby Week.
PCS was selected at random through a lottery and has been verified and officially approved by the Community Foundation of Louisville team to participate in this prestigious event, which brings together local nonprofits serving the Indiana and Kentucky communities.
“We are honored to be chosen for this wonderful opportunity,” said Doug Drake, CEO of PCS. “Events like Winsday allow us to connect with our community and share our mission of providing accessible mental health services to everyone desiring wellness of body, mind, spirit, and community. This support enables us to continue serving the 17 Indiana counties and four Kentucky counties where mental health care is needed most.”
Founded in 1959, PCS has provided comprehensive mental health services to individuals and families throughout Indiana and Kentucky for more than 65 years. The organization offers individual, couples, marriage, and family counseling, music therapy, substance use disorder programs, play therapy for children, medication management, and specialized counseling for trauma, addiction, grief, anxiety, and depression.
“The Derby brings our community together in a spirit of celebration and generosity,” added Doug. “We’re grateful to Resolute Racing, Churchill Downs, and the Community Foundation of Louisville for creating this opportunity to highlight the vital work being done by nonprofits across our region.”
PCS serves clients regardless of their ability to pay, using an adjusted fee scale supported by community donations, grants, and fundraising events, including our annual Norman Melhiser Samaritan Awards Gala. The organization’s commitment to accessibility ensures that financial barriers never prevent individuals from receiving the mental health support they need.
